This perfume holds the most sentimental value out of my entire fragrance collection. Believe it or not, the Lacoste Pour Femme was my signature scent all throughout high school.

As a teenager, buying your first perfume was a big deal… Well, at least it was for me! It meant shifting from your everyday antiperspirant to something a little more grown-up. I remember, at the time I was inspired by the surfing movie ‘Blue Crush’ and all I wanted to wear was Billabong and Roxy, haha! I attended a semi-private all girls high school in the heart of Cape Town and I was looking for a fragrance that was a little woody, cute and floral.

08-lacoste-pour-femmeIt was a tight-knit school of only 500 students, so we all knew each other quite well. I grew up as a very multifaceted, outspoken girl that was into everything from swimming to singing in the choir. These are all of the amazing memories that I have whenever I wear this Lacoste perfume. Scents and smells have such a powerful way of taking you back in time.

Launched in 2003 by perfumer Oliver Cresp, Pour Femme was my daily essential and used on all of my school trips too. It’s funny, because now when I smell it, I feel as though it represents who I am as a woman today. How did I have such good judgment of my character back then? #ThinkingOutLoud …. Not a lot of people can say that the perfume they wore over 10 years ago, is still one of their favorites and timeless at that!

Till this day, I still believe that how you smell is an outward expression of who you are. A friend once told me that it’s a subtle way to introduce yourself before you enter the room.

Lacoste Pour Femme probably sums up everything that I love in a fragrance.
Fresh, clean, straight-out-the-shower, feminine, sophisticated, powdery, light and elegant!

Definitely an old-time classic that I’ll keep replacing over and over again.
