RITUALS • NO.4

People always say be careful what you wish for … Well, a few years ago when I was visiting Portugal, I discovered my first Rituals boutique at a mall in Cascais, a beautiful coastal town, west of the capital, Lisbon. At the store, I remember chatting to such a lovely Portuguese lady, who told me more about the brand and how their products have a spiritual impact on your body and mind. The messaging reminds me so much of Aromatherapy Associates.

Rituals … is a Dutch brand available all throughout Europe, US and Australia. At the time, we sadly didn’t have a boutique in Dubai, let alone The Middle East. It was quite disappointing and I wished that within time, we’d have our very own. Drumroll #WishfulThinking – we do now!

In May 2016, the Apparel Group, one of the biggest retail giants in the region launched the first Rituals store in Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. Although I haven’t made any purchases there just yet, I’ll tell you what I bought while on holiday in Portugal.

There was so much to choose from, and at the same time I was looking for gifts for my sisters and mom too. I went on an ultimate scent spree and smelt all their perfumes, body butters, shower gels and candles. The only downfall about shopping while on holiday is the space factor… “Gosh, will this fit in my suitcase?” – I kept asking myself…

Here’s what I came home with – I bought a beautiful Rituals perfume created by the master nose Vincent Schaller, the No.4 Violet + White Lily.

11-rituals-no-4I was distracted by an aroma of fresh citrus, woody cedar and delicate rose petals too. I also bought a nice big tub of the Magic Touch whipped body cream in Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk – which has the most glorious texture ever! Unfortunately, this product is now disposed of. I went through it pretty quickly and loved every spread.

My No.4 is my go to everyday perfume. Its light, understated and airy. Surprisingly, all natural ingredients were used for this fragrance along with 100% organic alcohol. Having said that, it’s an EDP and highly concentrated. I’m amazed by how long it lasts.

Ps… As you can see, it’s almost finished, ah!
