The Body Shop • Fuji Green Tea

“Oh! If you only knew the behind the scenes work that went into this photoshoot!”

It was probably one of my most creative shoots ever … I took a drive around my neighbourhood to literally hunt for the prettiest looking leaves. I was surprised to find some really unique one’s, although, a bit disappointed that there were no dandelions in sight.

Anyway, enough about my ‘Dora the Explorer’ adventures … Let’s get into the review!

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea collection was given to me as a gift from my dad. For someone like ‘poppa bear’, as his kids call him, who has four women in his life: my mom, my two older sisters and me – it can get a little challenging keeping tabs on who likes what and who prefers sweet fragrances over subtle one’s. Luckily, this set suits my taste quite well.

Here’s what’s inside:

– Sponge
– Body Wash
– Body Scrub
– Body Butter
– Exfoliating Soap

Before putting the products to the test, I casually had a look at the overall aesthetics of the set.  I love the natural + neutral looking packaging.
A very minimalist design that features just a few green tea leaves on the front. As I sit here, writing up this post, and sipping on a cup of Twinings green tea for inspiration – I realize that I’m familiar with the taste of it, but completely oblivious to how it’s used in body care products.

The most widely known health benefit of green tea is that it’s loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on the body.
What’s more of a selling point for me, is that it includes all my essential R’s:

relax | renew | refresh | revitalize | rejuvenate

These R’s help detox your skin, while at the same time, remove dead skin and dirt build-up on your body. The one product that did all this and more is definitely the Exfoliating Soap

This soap, I can’t praise enough! It’s without a doubt the star product and true MVP of the Fuji Green Tea range. It has a fresh, herbal scent, much like the rest of the set and lingers on long after your shower too. What I love most,  is that the soap has real green tea leaves built in. It’s coarse and raw enough to use on your feet, legs and arms but also gentle enough to rub over your more sensitive body parts.

As squeaky clean as it leaves your body, it also tightens + firms up your skin almost instantly. You’ll feel uncomfortable if you get straight out the shower after this.

The trick is to pair the exfoliant soap with something more nourishing and moisturizing. The Body Wash, I’d suggest.  It’s a gorgeous rich formula that leaves you with soft + smooth skin.  The smell alone, would literally take you to the Green Tea Fields in Mount Fuji, Japan! A little ritual I practise in the shower, is cupping my hands and placing it over my nose and breathing in all the goodness. Seriously, try it, you’ll feel ridiculously calm afterward.

Another good follow-up product to the exfoliating soap would be the Body Scrub. It’s one of the most gentle and non-abrasive scrubs I’ve ever used. This 50ml tub only lasted me a week – I used it up pretty quickly and called it a day. Let’s just say that I wasn’t too excited about this particular product.

And finally, a TBS pamper routine wouldn’t be complete without their Body Butter. Its super rich texture goes on very thick and hydrates even the thirstiest of skins. The only downfall of body butter is that it’s not suited for hot + humid climates, like Dubai. This didn’t stop me from enjoying this classic favorite though! I used the body butter at night before going to bed – #Winning!

Make sure you check out the other items of the Fuji Green Tea collection:
